Pecan pie…without the sugar.

Petite Pecan Pies

These delicious pies are made with nothing more than dates and pecans. The result is a treat that tastes amazingly like pecan pie. Even if you’re not a big fan of pecan pie, give these goodies a try.

Petite Pecan Pies

8 Medjool dates
8 pecan halves

Remove pits from dates, and stuff one pecan half into each date.

Yield: 4 servings (serving size: 2 pies)

Recipe Notes

  • Medjool dates are the largest variety and work best with pecan halves. If you use smaller pecan pieces, you could use the smaller Deglet Noor dates instead.

it would really help me with my Daniel Fast . im on my 2nd day and it’s been going great 😀

  2. Who would have guessed that dates have such fancy names?!

  3. Yeah, I had to give it a tantalizing name so that people wouldn’t have a choice but to try it! 🙂

  4. Michelle, thanks for your comment, and I’m glad the recipes are helping you! I pray that God will bless you richly as you seek Him.

  5. Hi Kristen,

I absolutely love your website. My church participates in the Daniel Fast quite frequently, including an annual fast that usually starts the second week of January. We’re currently fasting for our monthly “Healing and Miracles” services which we started in July of this year, at the Lord’s direction, and we have witnessed an amazing move of God.

I just wanted to tell you I tried your “pecan pie” treat last night and felt guilty because it was so good that I had to keep telling myself that it is acceptable to the fast. Thank you for helping so many of us stay committed through delicious menu options. I pray the Lord will continue to bless you in this ministry!

    • Thank you so much for your post! I thank God for what He’s doing in and through your church as you seek Him through prayer and fasting. May He continue to move mightily among you!

..and here I thought I was silly for dipping my dates in almond butter..lol
    I will definitely try this..
I have been on the fast for one week. I have had trouble sleeping for 7 years and VERY rarely slept through the night. I have slept through the night EVERY night since starting this fast.
Last night I was at my home group meeting and when were all giving our prayer requests at the end, one of the new ladies (not knowing) asked for prayer for the EXACT same sleeping issue. I was able to recommend the fast to her ..PRAISE GOD!!

    • What a great testimony of how eating healthy has MANY positive benefits! I pray God continues to bless you with good sleep throughout the fast and after it’s completed. May He pour out His favor on your life in a powerful way as you hunger for Him!

  7. I found this stunning pecan pie recipe that’s vegan, raw, and Daniel Fast friendly, but your idea is much more simple and super yummy!
