Day 21 – Too Many To Count

“Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare.” – Psalm 40:5

This morning I made a list in my journal of the things God has shown me over the past three weeks. I quickly realized, though, that there is no way I could ever record all that He has done. He has done so much!

When I started this Daniel Fast, I asked God to give me a fresh word each day, one that would encourage and strengthen people. My prayer was Psalm 50:4,9a: “The Sovereign LORD has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught. It is the Sovereign LORD who helps me.”

Some mornings when I woke up, I had no idea what I was going to write about, but as I sat down at the computer, the Lord directed my thoughts and gave me insight. Other mornings, though, the Lord nudged me (and sometimes very early!) to get out of bed to work on a story idea. I thank Him for guiding me every step of the way on this Daniel Fast. If you have been encouraged and strengthened by anything on this blog, it’s because of the Lord. All praise and glory to Him!

Lord God, You are beautiful to us, and Your works are wonderful! We thank You for how you’ve blessed our lives during this fast. Help us to continue seeking You with fervency and passion. We want 2010 to be a year in which we draw closer to You. Fill us with your power, Lord, and fan the flame You have begun in our hearts. May our lives shine so brightly for You that others are drawn to Your great mercy and love. Great is your faithfulness, Lord God, and we praise Your holy Name!

“I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God!” – Deuteronomy 32:3

Hello, now that this fast is over, what will your diet be like?

  2. Hi. Thanks for your question. Honestly, I pretty much eat like this all the time. However, I do have eggs, chicken, and fish. I limit my intake of cheese and processed foods. I just don’t feel well physically when I eat too much of them. What about you? Has this Daniel Fast changed your eating?

I am on day 20 of eating raw vegan. I didn’t think of it as a Daniel Fast when I started, but you could say it is, only raw. It’s not out of my own strength and discipline that I am eating this way, but because I asked God to give me a desire for healthful foods. I have been enjoying your blog and your recipes look delicious and you are very generous to share them.

  4. I’m glad you are seeking God’s strength and motivation in trying to be healthier. He wants us to take care of our bodies. After all, our bodies are His temple. Thank you for your encouragement. May God bless you richly as you hunger and thirst for Him. 🙂
