Day 8 – Think about it.

“Great are the works of the LORD; they are pondered by all who delight in them.” – Psalm 111:2

LORD, we praise You! You are an awesome God and perfect in all Your ways. There is no one like You! As we celebrate You today, we thank you for all the great works You have done in our lives over the past week. You have faithfully helped us, comforted us, encouraged us, led us, protected us, and showered us with unconditional love. Truly, we have been blessed in countless ways. We worship You today with all that is within us because You are worthy of all glory, honor, and praise.

I pray for those who are seeking You through the Daniel Fast. God, open up their minds and hearts to what You are trying to show them. May this time of prayer and fasting empower them to do Your will in every area of their lives.

As we begin our second week of the fast, we look to You to guide us. Show us the way to go, O LORD! Help us to hear Your voice clearly and then to obey without hestitation. We put our trust in You and You alone. In Jesus’ powerful name, AMEN!

I am starting a 21 day fast with our church today, and have decided to do the Daniel fast. I know I will have caffeine withdrawal headaches – is there something I can do to lessen them? Thank you.

  2. Pray…and drink lots of water!

Seriously, ask God to minimize the side effects so that you aren’t totally consumed with a massive headache. Drinking lots of water should help somewhat, but I’m afraid there’s not much else you can do. Hang in there, and keep claiming Philippians 4:13! Thanks for writing. I pray that God will bless you richly as you seek Him over the next 3 weeks.

  3. Let me just add one thing…as a former personal fitness trainer, I would recommend exercising to try to distract you and alleviate the pain. Sometimes that helps, especially if you live in a climate that is warm right now and you can be outside.
