Give thanks in everything.

“Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessolonians 5:18

When you feel lousy, it’s so easy to complain. Everything seems worse when you’re sick, right? I haven’t been posting as much lately because I haven’t felt that great. The past few days I’ve felt HORRIBLE. I’ve even lost my motivation to do the things I like to do the most – cook, exercise, write…. BUT, instead of going on and on about how hard it has been, I’m choosing to focus on the things that are going well. I have much to be thankful for, so here goes….

I am alive.
The sun was out today.
The trees are absolutely beautiful right now – all the fall colors are amazing.
My uncle Boone came over to visit with us this afternoon, which was a nice treat.
I was able to spend the morning with Isabelle and take care of my sick girl.
Jocelyn and I read a book outside in the warm sun together.
I took a short nap in the hammock (always a good thing!).
I’m blessed to have a loving husband, who is so wonderful to me, and two precious daughters.
I’m thankful for Justin’s job, which allows me to stay home with them.
We have a lovely home and two working cars.
My family loves me.
I have many friends who love me.
I’ve been given and forgiven so much.
I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
I’m a child of the King.
I’m loved by God.

Definitely don’t have anything to complain about.

Thank you, Lord, for all of these things, but most of all, thank you for loving me.

  1. I’m thankful for you.

I’m sorry that you and Isabelle aren’t feeling well. Hope the shining sun helps you feel better soon. I’m afraid it’s going to be a long winter, after which we can be so thankful for spring!

  2. K,

I LOVE this! I used to make lists like this in college, and it is so uplifting!
