Happy birthday to me…twice.

Last Monday I celebrated by **th birthday, and one of my gifts was to be able to attend the Heart of America Christian Writers Network Conference in Overland Park, Kansas. Today is the last day of the conference, and my head is swimming with ideas. The last two days I’ve had the opportunity to network with publishers, literary agents, established authors, and newbie writers like myself.I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the support and encouragement from my husband. He took time off work to be a stay-at-home dad for a few days and is being Mr. Mom while I’m gone.

Not only is he cooking, cleaning up after the girls, and running the household, he has also has been busy working on my second birthday gift. It was supposed to be a surprise, but you know how it is with kids. There are no secrets. Isabelle spilled the beans the other night on the phone that Justin is redoing our kitchen countertops! I can’t wait to see how they look. I’ll be sure to post pictures for you. What a wonderful present!

So when I return home, I’ll be working in my newly remodeled kitchen and posting more recipes, but for now, I’m enjoying a little rest and relaxation. I still can’t believe I’m here. God is so good.
