“The LORD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him.” – Exodus 15:2, NLT
On Monday, I woke up feeling weary – physically, emotionally, and spiritually drained from a month-long headache. My energy level was extremely low, and I lacked motivation to do anything (which isn’t like me at all). Everything was a struggle. I could barely even pray.
Shortly after lunch, I received a voicemail from a dear friend, whom I hadn’t seen in weeks. She wanted to know if she could stop by to pray for me. I quickly returned her call to say, “Yes! Please come over!”
God knew I was in need of encouragement. That’s why He sent Judy as His special messenger to remind me of this truth: Even though Satan’s attacks may seem strong, our God is stronger! The enemy knows he is a defeated foe; we’re the ones who keep forgetting it!
Friend, our God is all-powerful. He is Jehovah-Nissi, our Banner, our Protection, our Victory. He is the One who fights for us. Therefore, when hardships and suffering assault our lives, we don’t have to fall into despair. The battle has already been won!
Whatever you’re facing today, know that the Lord is with you. God is fully aware of your need, and He will provide. I pray you find comfort and strength in Psalm 32:7, which says, “For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory (NLT).”
Stop fretting about your situation, and start praising the Lord! Put your hope and confidence in Him. Thank God for the victory He has already given you in Christ Jesus (1 Cor. 15:57)!
