I never tire of hearing stories about the amazing things God has done through the Daniel Fast! Following are just a few of the testimonies I’ve received. If you have a story to share, please contact me.
“I started this fast knowing God had called me to it. You said that it would be life changing, which I doubted, but it truly was. Praise the one and only God and His work in our lives.” – Lauree
“My husband and I did the fast, and it was a great adventure in so many ways. Your book, The Ultimate Guide to the Daniel Fast, is a fantastic resource, and we experimented with recipes that we would never have tried before. While it’s true we’ve denied ourselves some food items, we’ve gained much more than what we didn’t have. Thank you!” – Kathy
“I thank God for the Daniel Fast. It brought me closer to the Lord.” – Martha
“I love how this fast not only changed my eating habits but changed my desire to seek more of the Lord in my everyday activities.” – Jeneve
“God is great. He took my hand and made this fast an easy journey. He showed me that I needed to be more like him in so many ways. I’m so thankful I did this fast with my wife. It has brought us closer together through Christ. Over the past three weeks we had some very stressful family situations and friendships to deal with. Had it not been for this fast and being focused, we both know it would had been much harder. I also know that right from day one God helped me with not focusing on food but on what he had for me to learn. We’re going to continue eating much healthier as we both feel so much better. Thank you for all your support through the emails. Praise be to God.” – Wayne
“My daughters and son did the fast with me. There were a lot of failings on the fast, especially in the beginning, but we made it through. Thank you for inviting us!” – Felicia
“This was the first time my girlfriend Ruth and I did the Daniel Fast, and it was amazing. I was diagnosed as a diabetic in 2013. My blood sugar stays in the range of 200-340 the majority of the time. During the fast, it was around 200. After the 21 days, my blood sugar has been 122-140!” – Guain
“Thank you for your emails, recipes, and prayers during this Daniel Fast. My husband and I both participated, and it was truly amazing. Prayers were answered and the blessings are flowing.” – Kimberly
“I’m so grateful about how rejuvenated I feel and the revelations that have been revealed throughout this time of fasting. This fast has not strengthened only my personal relationships but also my working relationships. My spiritual ears have been more open than ever before.” – Kay
“I always journal during my fasts and this year I was able to feel the Holy Spirit speak about issues of shame and guilt that needed to be released. I knew I had a group of prayer warriors behind me as well! I have a healed heart, which now helps me to be more present to share the gospel to others. Praise be to God!” – Denise
“God has truly worked wonders in my life. I cannot believe how my life has changed. I give God all the glory and the honor.” – Jerome
“I wasn’t sure I could do this fast, and I have to say at times it wasn’t easy being such a huge coffee drinker and meat eater. I prayed every day that God help get me through the next day. I’ve always been a huge food addict. I weigh more than 300 pounds, and food has always been my go-to. Each day was a little easier as I looked forward to reading more of my Bible and your emails. I lost about 20 pounds in the 21 days, but the weight loss was just a plus. Thank you for helping with your encouraging words every day. I can’t wait to continue on this journey and learn more! God is good!” – Keri
“Our church corporately participated this year for the first time, and it’s amazing to see how God is working in our lives. We feel blessed by what you’ve shared with us – the recipes, the devotions in your book, The Ultimate Guide to the Daniel Fast, and the encouragement of your daily emails. Personally, I had several things I was asking the Lord about during the fast. A few of those He answered almost immediately (including finding a lost wedding ring for a family member) and several of those issues He’s still working out in/through me. The results are all in His time for His glory!” – Tara
“I reaped so many benefits from this fast, especially closeness to God. Bonds are being broken, and I’m in conversation and study daily with Him.” – Dave
“I feel better than I ever have! I feel renewed! I feel like I am once again reborn to a new creation! I encourage any believers to take the time to do this fast as well. It has been amazing!” – Chase

I felt led to begin the Daniel Fast. At the time, I thought God wanted me to do 10 days. But in the middle of it he showed me He wanted to go longer. He hasn’t given me an end day because I think He wants me to trust Him. Have you heard of God leading others in this way? I struggle not to wonder when the last day will be. I am seeking Him for healing and salvations of family members. During the first 10 days I received lots of freedom from past wounds. Please keep me in prayer.
Hi, Heather. First, I think it’s great that you’re listening to the Lord for the length of your fast. And, yes, I have heard from others who have had a similar experience. Just take one day at a time, and try to see it as an adventure with the Lord as you trust him to lead the way. May the Lord continue to bring healing and freedom on your fast.
Thank you. He still has me following this fast. I am praying and asking that this would not be a permanent lifestyle. But I am asking Him to grow self control in me so I have more freedom but without returning to unhealthy eating habits.
Have you ever heard of Jesus putting someone on this fast permanently?
Yes, I have had people comment or send an email about how the Lord was leading them to continue the fast as a lifestyle.
That’s what I was afraid of. I’m praying the Lord will give me freedom with self control. My fear was that Jesus wasn’t giving me an end date for that reason.
i am doing this fast as I want a breakthrough in my career, direction in my life. this is my 7th day, I wanted to breakdown in tears as I felt discouraged.
Have you ever felt discourgaed during the fast?
Yes, absolutely! Many times, in fact. So, you’re not alone. Remember, a fast is a battle, so Satan wants to discourage you and to defeat your efforts to draw close to God. But, you can’t let him win. No matter how hard it is, stay the course. Keep holding onto God’s promises because they are FOR YOU for right now. The Lord is with you, and he will give you strength.
Thanks
Hey Mrs. Kristen, I just wanted to let you know I’ll be doing a 40 day fast this year and I plan on making some of your dishes they look so tasty. I also order your book Miracles in the Making from amazon. I feel like God is calling me to fast and pray, I been feeling lost and dealing with 7 different mental health illness. Life will be so much better when I welcome God into my life. And I also wanted to know can I’ve bake tostitos chips with guacamole as a snack?
Hi! Thanks so much for your kind words. I’m glad you ordered Miracles in the Making, and I pray it’s a blessing to you! And, yes, Baked Tostitos are fine to have. 🙂 May God bless you abundantly as you seek him. He’s your Healer!
I am on day 2 of my Daniel Fast. It is challenging so far, but I feel good about it. I went to Sam’s today and I saw all that food I’m trying to stay away from. My weaknesses are carbs and sweets.LOL. And I love meat and cheese which is going to be even more challenging. LOL. My weight now is 181lbs my goal weight is 135-145lbs, but I will settle for 150lbs. LOL. I think that God lead me to try the Daniel Fast not only to get closer to him but to make healthier choices. I am going to try really hard in the next 19 days to maintain the fast. I tried the pepper tacos last night, but I didn’t use the tofu or avocado. It still turned out good and tasted good. Thank you for your recipes, food list, and your encouragement. God Bless.
Hi, Ashley! Thanks for sharing. 🙂 Yes, you CAN do it! I would encourage you to join the Ultimate Daniel Fast Facebook group for encouragement and support. It’s a great resource, especially when you feel weak and need prayer.
I was led to you in 2018 and I can’t believe time has flown by. Although I wasn’t unfamiliar to the fast I wasn’t used to being a leader but always a participant. Although it was only one person- my husband – it was still challenging to find myself as the encourager and guide but nonetheless excited and fulfilled that he wanted to grow closer to our Father. Thank you Kristen Feola for accepting your call. You may not hear it enough but you are essential to helping us grow as leaders, wives and mothers in Christ. Thank you!
Kay, thank you so much for your encouragement and feedback! I appreciate it. 🙂
I enjoy reading about your Daniel fast information. Just this morning God directed me to the book of Daniel, I have always lived this story. I am reading qith more understanding and seeing the purposes of what a 10 day Daniel fast could do for someone on their spiritual journey. I have a question I smoke cigarettes now, is it alright to smoke until my change come.
Hi, Barbara! Thanks for your feedback. Yes, a Daniel Fast is a wonderful opportunity to grow closer to God and build your faith. In fact, I’d like to invite you to be a part of the January 2021 Daniel Fast (more information coming soon). Of course, you can do the fast BEFORE January and join the one at the first of the year as well. To answer your question about smoking, that’s between you and the Lord. God will help you in this area as you submit to him. He knows right where you are on your journey. If your desire is to quit, you can be sure God will provide the strength you need to do it!
I’m considering purchasing the book from Amazon. However, I’m married and seeking a closer relationship with the Lord and my husband so far is indirectly in opposition of my pursuit. Would you please offer advice as to how this could work for me.
Hi, Kori! Thanks for your message. I’ve been thinking about your question, which is why I haven’t responded sooner. Just this morning, I read a brief devotion that talked about how our priorities should be ordered: 1) God 2) Spouse 3) Children 4) Church 5) Community. The Lord is to be our first love, and our devotion is to him above all else (“Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness…” Matthew 6:33a). As a child of God, you have a deep desire to grow spiritually, and that’s a good thing! God WANTS you to know him more intimately. However, sometimes in our pursuit of God, we can encounter opposition from family members and friends, yet the Lord calls us to remain faithful to him. Even if your husband isn’t interested in praying, fasting, etc., you can still participate in those disciplines. Of course, you want to be respectful of him and not dishonor him in any way as you do. God’s Word gives direction on this issue. I like the way The Message paraphrase puts it: “Be good wives to your husbands, responsive to their needs. There are husbands who, indifferent as they are to any words about God, will be captivated by your life of holy beauty” (1 Peter 3:1-2). As you continue to honor God and live for him, while honoring your husband at the same time, you’ll be showing your husband what it means to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Perhaps your devotion to the Lord will draw your husband to salvation!
I bought your book on Amazon. I would like to get emails to STRENGTHEN me on this journey.
Thank you and regards.
Gina
