Creamy Mango Delight Juice

January 7, 2010 By Kristen Feola

creamy mango delight

Creamy Mango Delight

With several inches of snow on the ground and a wind chill around -25° F, I am dreaming of lying on the beach under the warm summer sun. Instead of feeling the sand between my toes and the summer breeze blowing gently across my face, I'm getting blasted by the bitterly cold wind gusts. Aaah, but today the refreshing Creamy Mango Delight is my escape, sweeping me away to a tropical paradise...if only for just a few minutes.

Trail Mix

Trail Mix

Coming up with snack ideas on the Daniel Fast can present quite a challenge, especially when everything you'd normally munch on falls in the "Foods to Avoid" category. One of the tried-and-true recipes for healthy snacking is the classic Trail Mix--a tasty, satisfying snack that will give you energy between meals, help curb your appetite, and give you that mid-morning or mid-afternoon boost.
Trail Mix travels well, too. Just scoop some out into a plastic bag. Take it with you to work, school, or whenever you're on the road. That way you won't be tempted to head to the nearest fast food drive-thru when your stomach is growling for a snack.

Daniel Fast Baked Oatmeal

Baked Oatmeal

Baked Oatmeal

This delicious Daniel Fast recipe consistently ranks #1 on my website. Many people love it so much that they have it on a regular basis, even when they're not on a fast. If you prefer to start your day with a hot breakfast, you'll appreciate this baked dish. It pairs well with a cup of coff...uh, I mean, hot lemon water. Remember, no coffee on the Daniel Fast!

Carrot Juice with Fennel and Celery

Carrot Juice with Fennel and Celery

The licorice flavor of fresh fennel makes this carrot juice recipe seem like dessert (ok, so maybe I'm exaggerating a tiny bit, but it's very tasty).

Fall Harvest Oatmeal

Fall Harvest Oatmeal

Oatmeal doesn't have to be bland and boring. This recipe reminds me of the autumn season, but it can be enjoyed year-round.

Ingredients

  • ½ recipe Cinnamon Baked Apples
  • 2/3 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 4 Medjool dates, pitted, chopped (about ¼ cup)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped pecans

Instructions

  • Prepare Cinnamon Baked Apples as directed. When apples are done, cook oats on stovetop according to package directions. To serve, place ½ cup oatmeal in two bowls. Top with apples, dates, and pecans. Pour 2 tablespoons of apple juice over each serving, and serve immediately.
  • Yield: 2 servings (serving size: about 1 cup)
