As I drove my daughters to school this morning, I turned on our local Christian radio station. The DJ was explaining how he had accidentally left his microphone on during the last break, which broadcast his discussion with a co-worker to thousands of listeners.
The conversation was about a disturbing article he “just happened” to see on a newsfeed. He read that witches around the country will cast a spell on President Donald Trump and his supporters tonight, February 24, at midnight (Eastern time). Future hexing dates are also scheduled for March 26, April 24, and May 23.
Immediately, I explained to my girls how this situation is an example of spiritual warfare. I told them that, yes, there are really witches – not the black hat, flying-on-a-broom kind, but ones who follow Satan and are actually empowered by him to do evil. I assured them we don’t have to be afraid, but we do have to pray.
The issue is not whether you like President Trump. It also doesn’t matter if you voted for him or someone else. If you’re a believer who lives in the United States of America, you’re responsible for covering President Trump in prayer. So am I.
“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth” (2 Tim. 2:1-4).
How to Pray
- Ask the Lord to protect President Trump and to be a shield around him, his family, his Cabinet, and his Cabinet’s family members (Ps. 18:2).
- Pray that President Trump will have a heart to know the Lord and to follow in His ways (Jer.24:7).
- Ask the Lord to surround President Trump with godly men and women, who will instruct and guide him according to God’s Word (Ps. 1:1-3).
- Pray that any plans to harm President Trump or his family will be thwarted (Ps. 138:7).
- Pray that Christians will answer this call to prayer and intercede on a regular basis for President Trump and his Cabinet (2 Chron. 7:14).
God is at work in our land. He has great plans for our country. But Satan also has a plan. He wants to destroy us.
“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places” (Eph. 6:12 NLT).
Will you commit to pray regularly for President Trump? Don’t forget to pray tonight and to mark your calendars for March 26, April 24, and May 23. Also, if you live in another country, will you join us on these dates? I encourage you to pray for the leaders of your nation as well.
I believe that as Christians respond to this call to intercede, we will see God pour out His power in miraculous ways. Let’s not sit back and be apathetic. Let’s hit our knees and pray for our president!
Kristen it is so hard to receive this. Many white Christians cursed President Obama who by all accounts was a great president with a God given skin color that drew so much hate. He openly led a life that was good, merciful to all he met, and did what was right for this country. But like Christ he was despised! trump lived his life before running as president with hate, bigotry, celaciousness, divisiveness,…I could go on…but I won’t; then he AND his children ran on that same platform and white America and white Christian America embraced him and overlooked his lifetime of insanity and witchcraft that he was bringing to the Whitehouse. So if witches are coming for him, it is because he has their like spirit! Let us all pray for the HEARTS of this country, that we confess our own hate for each other’s skin color, and that we see eat other as Christ sees us. Then pray that the sin and spirits that are in the Whitehouse that are not of God be vanquished by the blood of the Lamb! That includes trump and anyone around him that has a heart to destroy this country, and God’s people who live therein!
Tammy, thank you for your honest feedback. Yes, I agree that many Christians, including myself, haven’t always been faithful in praying for our Presidents, particularly those we haven’t “liked” or agreed with. But God does command us to pray for our leaders, so we must be obedient. May the Lord have mercy on us as a nation, and I pray that we do turn back to the Lord!
I appreciate your honesty in saying you did not diligently pray for the safety and health of former President Obama. I thank God that nothing happened to him despite the lack of prayers from faithful Christians. On the other hand, you are right that all Christians should pray for the current President whether we voted for him or not. His actions will affect all Americans and we have to pray that his decisions are in the best interest of the country.
Jane, thank you so much for your comments! I appreciate your feedback. Yes, we should always pray for our country’s leader, whoever it may be, because you’re right. The actions of our leader affect all of us.
THANK YOU. It is right and just that you bring this to people’s attention and ask us to pray. I have been praying for Pres. Trump since day one, although I didn’t vote for him and I’m certainly not his #1 fan. None of that matters though; what matters is that we respect and support and protect our president in whatever ways we can, and for most of us that’s via prayer. It is the most powerful act. Thanks for alerting us to the wicked plan of the evil one and his followers. We are, indeed, in a spiritual war. The Daniel fast makes our prayers stronger in this war. Thanks for all your information and encouragement to stay strong in prayer and on the fast.
Jeanmarie, thank you for your comments! I appreciate your feedback. And thank you for praying so faithfully!
Oh, my! I am definitely joining the prayer circle. Thank you for your obedience in exposing the enemy. I am going to share this post on my Facebook page if that is okay with you!!
Thank you for praying. And, yes, please share the information!
Yes I am praying for President Trump and Justin Trudeau also the members of both cabinet’s
and all the family members. You in the USA are blessed to have a President that knows the
Lord and will do every thing possible to keep the people safe. Also please pray for Justin
Trudeau he just does not understand the danger he is putting Canadians in, and as a result also the USA when he refuses to screen immigrants Thank you Kristen for the days to fast
I just ordered your book. Thank You Bonnie
Thank you, Bonnie! May God bless you for praying! I’m also glad to hear you’ve purchased my book, The Ultimate Guide to the Daniel Fast. I pray it’s a huge help to you as you fast and pray!
I totally agree that we should pray for president trump however I am amazed at the hypocritical position of the church wherein all of a sudden we realize that it is our responsibility to pray for our leaders. Many republican Christians cursed at Obama, then acted like they were “praying” for him, then right after prayer they cursed at him again, to the point that the children thought he was the devil himself. Yeah let’s pray for Trump, I don’t wish him any evil and do pray for him, however he makes it really hard.
Thanks for your comments. Yes, I do agree that many believers were not faithful in praying for our last President (including myself). But we want to be obedient now in lifting up our leader and to continue doing so in the future, despite who is in office. I appreciate your honesty!
Yes I will be praying for our president an all leaders for God to lead them an for protection for them an family
Wonderful! Thank you, Nancy.
I am so grateful to have clicked on your site. There is a group of us to fast and pray to end abortion and o pray for our government leaders. We did get together last night to pray for President Trump and Vice President Pence and the cabinet members.
Thanks Dale Ann
Thank you for praying so faithfully!
Thank you for this reminder that our fight is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers of darkness. I hope that many Christians will answer this call to prayer as I am doing now. God bless you, and God bless America.
Thank you for praying, Sharon! May God bless you as you do!
Kristen thank you SO much for posting this. I have shared it and asked others to do the same. We are definitely seeing spiritual warfare. It’s a fight for this country indeed
You’re welcome, Kelly! Thanks for sharing it, too. May God bless you for praying and encouraging others to join you!
Yes we need to pray for him and his family
Wow! You are right to pray for him. Its really hard especially seeing all the hate that has been spawn. I share your site & that was the first thing that the people saw. So many mixed feelings. Lord help us all. Continue to cover us in the Blood of Jesus. You know all about this situation & I trust that you will see us through. In Jesus name. Amen.
Yes, and AMEN! Thank you!
